Why Bluenose exists
Main streets built Nova Scotia. The shops that sponsor the rink and know your name are competing against giants with one hand tied behind their back — because every tool for selling online was built for someone bigger, somewhere else. So most of our shops don’t sell online, and every year more of the province’s money leaves the province.
Bluenose is the missing checkout. Your shop already has the customers — on Facebook, at the market, walking past the window. We turn that attention into a sale, without the DMs and the holds and the e‑transfer chasing. Shop by shop, that becomes something bigger: the province’s main street, online.
Independently owned in Nova Scotia. No investors to answer to. Built to still be here in twenty years.
The money, in full
One price: $100 a month — and your first 3 months are 50% off ($50). No tiers, no per‑product pricing, no paywalled features, no contract. That’s the whole thing. You build your shop for free and only pay when you publish it — no pressure, no card until you’re ready to go live.
What a sale actually costs you. We take none of it. The only fee is Stripe’s card processing, passed through at cost — we don’t add a spread. On a $40 sale, Stripe’s fee is roughly $1.46 (about 2.9% + 30¢); you keep the rest. We show you that receipt on every order — Stripe’s fee, never ours.
Tax handled. GST/HST is calculated and handled through Stripe Tax, so you’re not doing that math by hand.
Cancel anytime — yourself. Two taps in your billing settings. You never have to email anyone to leave.
If you leave, your shop leaves with you
Your customer list and your order history are yours. Full export, anytime, and it all goes with you if you move on. We are not a data business — nothing is ever sold, rented, or brokered, and shoppers are never profiled across stores. The door is unlocked on purpose.
